It can feel like an overwhelming task trying to find somewhere to live after prison – 65% of women leave prison in the UK without safe and sustainable accommodation. Providing women leaving the criminal justice system with a secure and stable home improves their chances of recovering from the experience and moving forward.

Nacro is a national social justice charity with more than 50 years’ experience of changing lives, building stronger communities and reducing crime. Nacro manages properties which have been purchased and refurbished by the Resonance Women in Safe Homes fund.  Nacro furnishes the properties to ensure a homely welcome for women recently released from prison. They add in tailored support, and foster community through shared living allowing women to collaborate and lead on the next steps in their lives.
